ROBERT F. KENNEDY, JR. was named one of Time magazine’s “Heroes of the Planet” for his success helping Riverkeeper lead the fight to restore the Hudson River. The group’s achievement helped spawn nearly 200 Waterkeeper organizations across the globe, making the Waterkeeper Alliance one of the world’s fastest growing environmental organizations.
On May 18th, 2011, Lake Pend Oreille Waterkeeper was honored to host Mr. Kennedy at a speaking event at the Panida Theater, and the following morning for a brunch.
Mr. Kennedy is the current President of Waterkeeper Alliance as well the organization’s At-Large Representative. He is a published author, tireless advocate and well-respected legal mind. He serves as Senior Attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council and Chief Prosecuting Attorney for the Hudson Riverkeeper. He is also a Clinical Professor and Supervising Attorney at Pace University School of Law Environmental Litigation Clinic and is co-host of Ring of Fire on Air America Radio.
